Terms & Conditions of China & Prop Hire
Standard China Hire Times ~ China will be on hire to you for 3 days.
Delivery or collection the day before your event until the day after when it will be collected or returned.
If your event is on a weekend then collection will be on the Friday and the return day will be on the Monday before 15.30pm
as we do not collect or take deliveries on a Sunday.
Any extra time required may incur a charge but this would be discussed at the time of booking.
Delivery & Collection
China Hire - We are happy for you to collect your china from us, therefore avoiding the delivery & collection charges.
However, if you would prefer us to deliver to and collect from your venue the following charges will apply :
Delivery within 20 miles of TQ9 6GH will be £15 with any extra miles charged at £1 per mile.
Collection within 20 miles of TQ9 6GH will be £15 with any extra miles charged at £1 per mile.
These charges are to cover our petrol and our time. Google maps will be used to determine the mileage.
Outside of South Devon we will speak to you to discuss the charge at the time of your order enquiry.
Delivery and collection does not include unpacking, setting up or packing away the china, this is the responsibility of the hirer.
We do offer a setup service so please ask for a quote if this is something you require.
Deposit & Cancellation
A 50% non refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your date.
The final balance is due 14 days prior to your delivery date, a final balance invoice will be emailed to you 21 days prior to your date.
Any cancellation made within the 14 days prior to delivery will incur full charge.
All Cancellations must be made in writing, preferably by email and acknowledged by The Vintage Tea & Cake Company
Packaging & Washing up
All our items will be packaged carefully and must be returned to The Vintage Tea & Cake Company having been
repackaged with due care and back in the original boxes.
We are able to lift the burden of washing up from you as this limits the risk of damage, for this we charge 10% of the order total.
We just ask that all plates are cleared of debris and teapots & cups are emptied to avoid staining, before packing them away.
If you choose to wash the china yourself it is imperative that it is hand-washed and dried with care. Please do not place any china
in a dishwasher as it is very fragile, thank you.
Once the items have been delivered and signed for by the hirer ( or nominated person) they become the responsibility
of the hirer until they are returned to or collected by The Vintage Tea & Cake Company. All hired items remain the property of
The Vintage Tea & Cake Company. We will not be held responsible for any injury that may occur due to the misuse of any hired items. Our bicycle, ladders and other vintage items are for display purposes only and are not to be used for any other purpose.
Loss & Damage.
Damages are rare but we do know that accidents occasionally happen!
A 25% refundable damage deposit is required to cover any lost or damaged items.
Should any damage occur that is greater than the 25% deposit you will be invoiced for the balance.
Your deposit will be returned within 14 days of all items being returned, checked and any necessary deductions being made.
You will be informed of any deductions via email.
In the event of any loss or damage each piece will be charged at the replacement value.
Any china that is chipped or cracked will be classed as damaged.
A copy of our terms & conditions will be sent with your invoice.
